Videocrash rolls on like a speeding juggernaut, only you won't be wanting to jump out of the way of this one. Let it hit you right between the eyes and you'll be wrapped in a world of audio-visual club smashing!
London's premier audio-visual institution is moving to a new home, and with it taking things to the next level. With four different takes on the AV idea, by the fore-runners of music/movie manipulation, combined with a full-sized cinema screen in the distinguished Kentish Town Forum expect an evening of true progression, mad skills and hella fun! (Don't forget your 3D specs...)
Headlining the entertainment then is one of 'The 10 DJs you must see before you die’ (Q magazine), ‘One of the Top Three DJs in the World’ (HHC), the world's principal AV artist DJ Yoda.
Part dance-floor destroying selector, part turn-tablist supreme and part stand-up comedian Yoda has been amazing audiences world-wide with his eclectic sets combining every genre of music with every form of video with a rare deftness and keen sense of humor in his shows 'DJ Yoda Goes To The Movies' and the current 'Magic Cinema Show'.
Taking the AV art form into brand new territory utilising cutting edge DVD mixing equipment that he has been instrumental in developing, this is one of the most exciting artists from this century and even if you've seen him before Yoda is always full of surprises. A rare appearance from a true master if his form, this set is not to b missed!
Joining him at the Forum are block-buster remixers Addictive TV. Pioneering alchemists of audiovisual remixing, Addictive TV have twice been voted best visual act in the World in DJ Mag and have now blown away audiences in over 50 countries with their dynamic live shows . Also in demand in Hollywood for their movie mashing talents, the guys have notched up an unrivaled number of official film remixes for blockbusters like Fast & Furious, Iron Man and the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire. Spinning their mind-bogglingly intricate tracks from video turntables at venues as varied as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the London IMAX and the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Arts, as well as some of the best clubs around like Womb in Tokyo, Paradiso in Amsterdam and Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Addictive TV are a uniquely synced audiovisual experience not be missed.
The reason for the red-and-green glasses? There's even more innovation to be witnessed this evening with 3D Disco. A world first established in 2006, their fully 3D AV club experience has been performed at Glastonbury festival, with Calvin Harris and Chemical Brothers in Trafalgar Square, Kraftwerk in Bucharest and clubs across the world. Described as 'the most hi-tech dance experience ever' by the Independent and 'A "Must-visit" and contender for the three best places to get absolutely sh*tfaced' by NME 3D Disco seem like perfect Videocrash participants!
Videocrash just wouldn't be videocrash without it's resident DJ Cheeba and his own mind-blowing AV set. Utilising the very latest Serato technology Cheeba takes unknown music video's, movie clips and self-made videos and mixes them with killer tunes in a set that has dumfounded crowds at Solid Steel and Videocrash for the last couple of years, and it just gets better and better. An incredible scratch DJ and tireless digger, this young man has the ability to rock the crowd in any circumstance (including a massively rocking boat on a stormy Croatian sea!) and you're guaranteed to see something new!
In fact that's the theme of the evening. Expect to learn something new, laugh your arse off and dance 'til your feet hate you in one of London's most historic venues, with some of the most pioneering artists on the planet providing a multi-sensual partying experience.
